Deacon Training - Session 1 - Administrative Core of Deacon Work


In Deacon Training Session 1, Dr. Moore reviews Acts 6:1-4 and explains that deacon work is administrative in nature, focusing on the non-spiritual work in the church.


 

Group Study Instructions


This course is designed for use in group studies. However, no DVDs or printed materials are available for purchase. Everything required for the study can be watched and/or downloaded from the individual session pages of the course (like this one).


Pease follow the instructions listed below to carry out a group study on this session:


Step 1: Download the pdf documents shown below.


  1. Instructor Guide: The Instructor Guide will provide all the instructions necessary for an individual to lead the group study session. Print one copy for the instructor and have him review it before the session begins.

  2. Student Guide: Student Guides provide notes on the video for each session. Print one copy for each student participating and hand it out at the beginning of the session.

  3. Timed Check Point: Timed Check Points (TCP) are optional review exercises for each session. They are not tests in the traditional sense. TCPs are explained in detail in the Instructor Guide. Print one for each student and hand them out during time allotted for the TCP during the session.




Step 2: Prepare to play the video lecture.


Each session has a video lecture that is integral to the course. As noted above, there are no DVD versions of these lectures. To watch them during your group study, do one of the following:


  1. Watch from this Webpage: Open this webpage on your smart TV or computer and play the video for the group. You can enlarge it by clicking on the Fullscreen icon (the "X") in the bottom right corner of the video player.

  2. Cast and Watch: Open this webpage on your cell phone and cast it to a smart TV.

  3. Download and Watch: Download this video to your computer, connect it to a TV or other screen, and play the video for the group. To download, follow the instructions below or watch the short video at the bottom of this page:

    1. Go to the Master Video List for this series.

    2. Click on the video associated with your session (Session 1, 2, 3, etc.).

    3. Locate and click on the Download button.

    4. Choose the resolution you prefer (1080p is recommended for larger screens) by clicking the Download button beside it. The download should start right away.

    5. The file can be found in your Downloads file on your computer.
